***** Message : I recently purchased an AXE XCaliber Tour 6+ TS (Tour Stiff).  Wow!  Double Wow!!

A little about my swing and game:  I’m a 4 handicap, driver swing speed on Vector Launch Monitor is 122-125 mph.  My ball speed is 179-185 mph, back spin 2500-2750 rpm, the launch angle is 10.5° - 12° and my normal ball is Callaway Tour IX or Nike Tour D.

This shaft is a monster!

I have been playing the following shafts up until now:  Whiteboards Tour AD Deep Impact, Project X 8A4, EnZo Zone 70 and Miyazaki Black 80X all in X flex.  These are all nice driver shafts and some quite expensive.

This XCaliber shaft produced higher ball speed by 1-2 mph on average over the next closest shaft, spin rate at 2550 rpm’s was nearly as low as with the Project X 8A4 which measures 2450 rpm’s.  I did not tip trim the shaft as it already has the stiffest lower 16 inches in the industry and I’m glad I did not trim it after playing it.  My shaft after butt trim is 44.25” giving my driver a playing length of 45”. My driver head currently is a DOT COM with 6° loft and 1/2° open so I have a 5° positive angle of attack to launch it at around 11° on average.  This shaft will take anything I can throw at it.  It’s a cannon!!!

Best thing  is you can purchase six of Robin Arthur’s AXE XCaliber Tour 6+ TS shafts and have change left over to go play a round rather than buy just one of the shafts I listed above.  This shaft certainly proves better does not mean more money.  In summary: Buy this shaft, it is the best money you can ever spend on your long game!  E. *****  I scrutinized every golf component website and catalog I could find searching for the highest quality at an affordable price and one name kept coming afore.....Tempo Golf Components.   I ended up purchasing the SVG-3049S 304 stainless steel irons along with the SVG-2049 #3 fairway metal and SVG-8049 #5 hybrid.  The quality and attention to detail is second to none and the cost was less than the competitors.  I am extremely pleased with the finished clubs and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Tempo Golf Components to anyone.  L. *****Hello Everyone.  By way of introduction, I play to about a 2.  A few years ago, I came to the conclusion that hybrids and hybrid style irons are here to stay becasue they are simply easier to hit consistently.  So I began a quest to find a set of hybrid style irons which would give me the benefits of player's clubs but with the ease of playability of hybrids.  We are all looking for just that right combination to improve our golf games.  After literally dozens of attempts, I have found the recipe that works for me - and I believe will work for anyone who has an interest in "hybrid irons"..... three simple ingrdients.... Tempo Golf Components, SVG Titan Plus hybrid heads, and Don Thompson.

Don was instrumental in pointing me towards these clubs and sharing his knowledge and experience.  He has been extremely helpful to say the least.  I had planned on working these hybrids out on the range before putting them into play, but weather prevented that so I wound up going to the first tee having never hit any of them.... I hit 16 greens - 6 within 10 feet.  These clubs are incredibly consistent and have a medium-soft solid feel.  In addition, unlike many hybrid irons which are geared primarily for distance, these perform much more like a player's club in that they can easily be worked and spin the ball quite well with the short hybrids.

Needless to say, I am more than pleased.  Players at all levels owe it to themselves to talk to Don about these clubs.  Thanks again to Don.  T. Francis, Kansas City, KS 7/07/2010

***** Don, I just placed an order on your website for two Model SVG-3048S sand wedges.   Please adjust the loft on one of the heads to 52° and the other to 56°.  Lie should be adjusted to 65°.  I purchased the 6 thru PW back in March and they feel better than any clubhead I have ever played.  It took me a couple of weeks to get used to my new clubs, but since I have, I am completely satisfied.  I would recommend SVG Model 3048S heads in 304 stainless steel to anyone looking to improve their game.  Thanks!  B. *****  Dear Sirs,  I'm Rick Harrington, a 24 year PGA Golf Professional employed as Golf Director at 36 hole Mohawk Park Golf Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma as well as serving as Program Director for the First Tee of Tulsa.  As an accomplished professional player and teacher of several PGA Tour Players, I've always prided myself in staying on top of excellent products in our industry.  After 11 years of playing the Rifle steel shaft in my irons, I recently switched to your Harrison Professional steel shaft.  Having helped design the Titleist Fitting Cart, my knowledge of clubs, shafts and fitting is fairly significant and allows mw to properly assist my players.  In my personal case, the change to the Harrison Professional has been the most unbelievable I've ever experienced.   The feel and consistency of the shaft is far better than any I've ever played and has allowed me at 43, to again play some of my very best competitive golf.  Being a fairly low launch player I've always needed to compensate to make the Rifle work for me.  With the Professional steel shaft this compensation is no longer necessary and my initial launch and ball flight is better and more consistent than it ihas ever been.  You have a superior steel shaft!  Sincerely, Rick Harrington, PGA Golf Professional

*****  "If you don't like looking down at those big 460cc driver heads, here's an excellent economical solution.  Try the SVG-1024 410cc head coupled to the SVG-5655 shaft.  It's an attractive combination that produces solid feel and sound at impact, and it's easy to control.  It's a fairway finder.  This driver will compare favorably to many over-priced OEM product and at a fraction of the OEM cost.  Bigger and more expensive is not necessarily better".  Gator in the Midwest 5/04/2010

***** I believe my new AXE XCaliber is one of the best shafts I have ever hit...period.  Don't have to worry about going after the ball and the shaft not holding up and I love the trajectory.  It's working great in my driver and I'm thinking of ordering a FW shaft for my 3 metal.  RC 4/23/10

***** First off, thanks Robin for designing and putting out a high quality shaft without the "designer" price tag. I already have had your FW shaft in my 3 wood and would have no reason to change it. What more can you ask for than a smooth swinging 3 wood with a nice boring mid/high trajectory? The question is "which shaft for my driver? Here's a little about me and the set ups without a lot of the technical stuff (in case anyone may be interested):

Handicap-4
Swing Speed-100+ (150 yd club stock 8 iron)
Tempo-Moderate/Smooth
Driver-Adams A4 9015D
Setup #1-9.5 degree with AXE 6
Setup #2-10.5 degree with AXE 6+

First of all I could leave either one of these drivers in my bag and they would be just as good or even better than any other set up I have tried with these heads. I like tinkering! Both shafts were very smooth feeling and provided a nice boring trajectory. I was curious to see which dirver would provide the higher trajectory. Surprisingly to me the 10.5 with the 6+ gave me a slighly lower ball flight which I liked. Both drivers I was able to work in both directions so that was good. While both drivers I felt I could make a smooth pass at with good results, the 6+ did feel a little more stable when I got on one. Did I hit my driver 300+ yards as soon as I put the shafts in? Well I can't say that and people that say that make me laugh! But I can honestly say this...I played 2 rounds with both drivers at my home course which I have played at for 15+ years and I was actually a club shorter into a couple of the holes and it's still damp in the mornings this time of the year. So that tells me if anything I am a little longer with these shafts and that's always good. For me though the most important thing about a golf club is feel and this is where these shafts excelled to me. I have not had a better feeling shaft in these heads hands down! Just like the FW shafts the drivers shafts were just smooth and solid feeling. The bottom line is this; my new favorite driver shaft is now the XCALIBER 6+ with the 6 a close second! Robin you are the man!  clkvoodoo 4/16/2010

***** I just wanted to give you a quick update. I just played 9 more holes with the new AXE Tour 6+ in (TS) Tour Stiff flex.  Let me tell you it performs as good as it looks.  This is a stout shaft. It is not for the faint of heart. For me personally I don't feel I have to overpower it though.  What I like about it is the way I can work the ball.  I can work it and it doesn't over-hook or it doesn't turn into a big cut or a slice.  I was literally picking targets in the fairway and within 7-10 yards of them. I really can't tell about the spin yet.  I don't have a launch monitor and when I played today the ground is still extremely wet.   My first impressions are this: LONG, stable, on target, low spin, looks good, and did I mention LONG?  I believe I will be ordering some more of these shafts. Keep up the good work Robin Arthur!  Jeff Cole, Hamilton, Ohio (04/06/2010)

*****  If you're in the market for that rare blend of forgiveness and feel -- at an affordable price -- you owe it to your game to try this combination:  The SVG-3040 irons  and the new Apollo Phantom stepless shaft.  The 304 steel is noticeably softer than most conventional cast heads and the lightweight Phantom shaft  produces a pleasing feel and feedback with great control.  When it comes to forgiveness, this clubhead is tough to beat.  It's similar in design to the Ping G-10 with a sand-blasted finish.  With a generous offset, large face, wide sole and deep cavity the SVG will definitely reward good contact and cover up most of your miss-hits.  I'm a mid-handicapper and over the years I've played game-improvement clubs from Cleveland, Callaway and Taylormade and this SVG iron is clearly superior in both feel and forgiveness, and at a fraction of the cost.  I ordered the 5-iron though PW, built to my specs with adjustments to lie and length -- and NO charge for the lie adjustments!  My iron game has improved and even my playing partners have remarked how well I'm hitting these irons.  I was particularly impressed with the personal service I received from Don Thompson. Without qualification, it's the best on-line golf-buying experience I've ever had.  For value and quality, Tempo's clubs are a cut above.  So much so that I have recommended Tempo to my golfing buddies.  High-quality components at a great price with great service: that's what I call a good deal.  Recently, a senior lady at my golf club ordered some irons from Tempo. She's delighted with the results and thanks me every time I see her at the course. ***** (Sent to Robin Arthur, AXE shaft developer) Hey Rob, I decided to break my silence and join the forum again. I now have the Tour 6+ TS, the Tour Fairway, and the new Hybrid installed in my wood program. I have played 4 rounds now and I can now say without a doubt that they all are the best shafts pound for pound I have played in years. My $300.00 diamana blue board has been retired from my driver. I have gained 18yards on my driver with much less effort. The new fairway shaft is a pleasure to work or hit high and straight. The hybrid can be hit flush online low and boring, or high draw. Now that the weather is warming up I cant wait for the tournament season to start. It is a pleasure to play with confidence, and the credit is all yours. Thanks for allowing me to share,  and such a great line of shafts.  E. Napue - Kansas City (03/28/2010)
