Why 304 stainless steel irons?  It is accepted knowledge within the world of golf that forged carbon steel irons usually in the form of "blades" give the better golfer a softer feel and certainly more feedback from the ball strike. Loft and lie adjustments are also much easier to make.  It's also an accepted fact that "blades" are not nearly as forgiving on mis-hits as today's cavity backed perimeter weighted clubs not to mention being considerably more expensive.  Hence, most amateur golfers, and many pros too, choose to sacrifice the workability benefits of forged and instead play golf irons usually cast from very hard 431 or 17-4 stainless steel. Once you play our soft 304 stainless steel irons you will never play the standard cast 431 stainless steel heads again. It's a truly amazing "feel" head that everyone needs to experience if you're golf serious. It is definitely worth the few extra dollars per head but you can be your own judge after just a few rounds.
